No Email Client Configuration Required
AGAVA SpamProtexx works with all email clients and does not require changing any settings within your email client to get started. SpamProtexx filters your email connections on the fly. SpamProtexx though provides convenient interfaces (drag-n-drop baskets) for training it from popular applications such as Outlook and Outlook Express.
Works with Both POP3 and IMAP Email Accounts
Both POP3 and IMAP connections are filtered on the fly. You don’t have to tell SpamProtexx which of these you use. The difference between POP3 and IMAP is that IMAP allows you to store your email and folder structure on the server and thus have access to the same email from several computers. When POP3 is used, SpamProtexx adds a signal string to the Subject line of the spam message. When IMAP is used, SpamProtexx would move all spam messages to a SPAM folder on the server.
Whitelisting
AGAVA SpamProtexx maintains a whitelist with a number of advanced features:
1. An entry to the whitelist consists of an email address and its “display name”. In “John Smith” john@domain.com is the email address and John Smith is the “display name”. It often happens that spams come in from known address (such as ones you are always corresponding with) — it is called email forgery. While the email address is forged, spammers can rarely forge the actual display name. Since our whitelist checks both, your email box is more protected.
2. The whitelist is maintained automatically. Whenever you send an email to someone, his address and display name are added to the whitelist. Whenever you submit a non-spam message for training, the address and display name are added to the whitelist. Whenever you submit a spam message for training, the address is removed from the whitelist. Whitelist entries can be protected from removal by manually checking a checkbox opposite the entry.
3. The whitelist can also be maintained manually.
SSL Support
Some email servers require SSL (Secure Socket Layers) authorization. SSL provides security to your inbound and outgoing email connections. SpamProtexx offers seamless SSL support, no configuration needed.
